So, I go out to the sailing club a few weeks ago and I notice my new Hobie Mesh tramp has what looks like mildew building up...... What do you all use to clean it?

I lightly scrubbed it with original Dawn (Blue)....... Helped some...........

Tips?

Barkeeper's Friend worked very well on my solid vinyl tramp and hulls. The active ingredient is oxalic acid (see:OxiClean infomercials). It is supposedly environmentally friendly but nevertheless you will want to wear gloves.

I can confirm this. BKF works extremely well on hulls and I have had success with vinyl tramps. I've never tried it on a mesh tramp though.

I just use car was soap and a soft bristle brush on my mesh trampolines. It does a good job and probably not as harsh as oxalic acid. I've had good results with oxalic acid on white hulls.

I had been storing it with my old tramp on top and a Tarp over all of it. Where my boat is parked in the boat yard it is near a bunch of Pine Trees, I was worried about limbs falling and going through the tramp.... Thinking this was the cause, have since stopped placing the old tramp over the new now hoping that will help.........

Bleach is a sure way to kill mold... You can use a light solution - 1/4 cup bleach to 3/4 water. If its not quite doing the trick, make it a 50/50 mix. Just be sure to thoroughly rinse afterward.

I actually tried that, I bought a new Pressure washer, Everytime I borrow my dads, he always comes up with a project and needs it back, so, I picked up one a few weeks ago and went out to do some cleaning on the boat. Did not really help much, but I was afraid to get to aggressive.

Clorox at around a 10-15:1 mix got most of it.
