Does anyone have any recommendations for places to rent a catamaran (preferably like a Hobie 16 or maybe something a little bigger) in the Tampa to Ft. Myers area. I will be spending a few days in Venice in the middle of March and it has been a little to cold to get out on the water here in Michigan. On the other hand I would be very willing to rent a boat from a fellow member of the forum for a day if you were interested and you're cat is in good shape. If you are considering I have 4 years sailing experience, two of which are on my own Hobie 16 and summer crewing on a 35ft mono-haul for fleet racing. Not boasting, just trying to show that I'm not an idiot when it comes to sailing. |

I'm in Punta Gorda, the 16 just needs a winter washing. I rent for rum. |

There's a place to rent on the causeway out to Honeymoon Island Park, in Dunedin, FL. Just north of Clearwater. |

A couple of rental places I'm familiar with: Clearwater: http://www.clearwatercommunitysailing.org Ft Myers: http://www.adventure-watersports.com/rentals1.html Dunedin: http://www.sailhoneymoon.com I haven't rented from any of them but I've heard others speak in positive terms for all three. Come on down the water's warm(er). |

I'll be at my inlaw's place the last week of March- the first week of Apr. No boat either this time save for some SOT kayaks though... |
