I don't have any winter hobbies, so the winter season is very long and excruciating. I have been reading my Hobie manual just for fun, and watching the same sailing videos on YouTube, over and over. How are you guys getting through the winter? It has been difficult, with a Hobie sleeping in the garage. |

I gota get a kite! My business keeps me busy most of winter (christmas lighting) but right about now I start going nuts. A couple car projects, some things to do to the new boat and trailer, then maybe some virtual skipper will keep those clean young men in their shiny white coats from having to take me away! Thanks for the ideas! You guys are quite active in the winter, that is awesome. I like the cross country skiing idea. The kite boarding seems too extreme for me. I brew beer in the winter, but eventually the bar becomes fully stocked (or over-stocked). |

This has been a good time to maintain my boats. I have re-sealed my mast on my H14T with new rivets as needed. Also rework my cams and the rudder spring kit. Replace the shrouds on my H16. Next is go through the H16 trailer for travel from Memphis to the gulf coast. Bearings, larger wheels/tires and lighting. Nearly completed. In my off time, I am restoring my Antique 1975 Bronco. 4-wheeler riding and cutting/burning firewood. It's been cold,even here in the mid-south. |

Reading or playing cribbage in front of the fireplace while drinking too much wine. Snowshoeing with my wife and collie. Climbing at the rock gym. Shoveling snow. Again and again... Entertaining the granddaughters. Anticipating sailing season! |

If I went to California i would probably get stuck in snow in the Mts , make that Mamoth MT in that endless cycle ride up the chair, ski as fast as I can and repeat till I cant go any longer. Jay |

I,m also lucky to have a summer and a winterhobby Just playing /training around with the dogs on cart or when there is enof snow by sled

I was missing the water myself. So after Christmas I trailered my getaway 1050 miles from Maryland to Pensacola bay. I camped two days waiting for the weather to clear. I was on the water for one afternoon. Then I drove home. Does that qualify me as addicted to sailing? |

Yes, you might be addicted to sailing, but I can't blame you. (Makes for a great story!) You guys have some great ideas, thanks! I would love to try dog sledding, can you rent Huskies? (just kidding). |
