I'm 33 and just purchased my first Hobie (a Getaway). My boys of sailing age are 7 and 6 and both love it as well.

The scale is a bit tweaked as I tried to break down the younger years more and lump in the old guys by decades.

So... looks like a good upcoming group of younger sailors!

As of today:

How old are you?
1-20 [ 11 ]
21-30 [ 34 ]
31-40 [ 25 ]
41-50 [ 54 ]
51-60 [ 33 ]
61-70 [ 3 ]
70 [ 0 ]

42 years old here. This is my first Hobie.....what a boat! I will never own a mono-haul again to slow and to dry.

35 years old.

Used to race on a 26' out of Annapolis. About to get a Getaway as my first real sail boat.

43 here. started taking ASA 101 2 years ago. 103 will be completed in 2 wks, and 104 next year. Looking at chartering in my twilight years and thought the hobie getaway would be fun until then.

What do I do for my upcoming 21st? I need to change my answer on the poll!! Just kidding, but seriously I'll be accepting gifts starting now. A 2000 year or later boat will do just fine. Thanks.... :)

36 here (sigh).

I've always thought Hobie's were cool but didn't catch the bug until 2003. Saw one in Mexico and the guy told me he could leave it on the beach all week and nothing would walk away. Sold!

Taught myself from a video and still learning.
