im 36 and my wife is 30 something we just bought a tiger and are loving it 10 years in hobie sailing and multihull racing love it

I am 46 and my wife Alison is 47
My son Jordan has just turned 11 and inherited a Hobie 14 #44555 from Jake Sailer (Blue Hobie 20) and his father Mark Sailer.
He is learning and having fun.

I started sailing at Calling Lake Alberta on the 79 blue Hobie 16 #54466 with my Father. Calling lake is bigger than 1/4 size of Lake Tahoe and blows like Santa Cruz. A beautiful place to sail. Jordan and I raced last year 25 yrs after my dad help found the Calling Lake Sailing Club.

My Hobie 18 #916 1989 18 worlds boot sits near Jeremy's shop on Harbor Beach during the summer.
Jordan and I race our 2000 Alter Cup 20 #916 on lakes, and Danny crews for me on ocean races.

Jordan had his 14 at the 16/20 NA in Alemeda where the next generation played that week (Mark Lewis and Pat Porters sons went out with Jordan)

Thanks to Jeremy for all that he does here in northern CA.

We still have all 4 boats.

Just turned 44 on Tuesday, the wife is 39. We bought our first Hobie (a 2002 getaway) this past summer and are having a great time honing our sailing skills, or lack there of, with it! :D I even figured out how to pitchpole before I even knew what it was! :shock: We can't wait for the weather to warm up so we can loose the wetsuits. Any other getaway owners that launch from the Texas City dike!

i bought a hobie 18 a year ago. i am 27 and i love it . i have had a group of up to 4 grown adults and a full ice chest on board. there is nothing i feel that i can't do in this boat. i love it.

My 56th birthday is approaching very fast.

My first sailboat was a pram that I built when I was about 12. Since I did not know anything about marine plywood and other things nautical the front of the pram warpped after about the third time out and it started taking on water. My friend and I could not bail fast enough and down she went into the river. It was my first abandoin ship. My father felt sorry for me, I guess, and bought a sunfish sometime later. Since I had not learned much about sailing the short time I had the pram, I got out the Encyclopedia Britannica and read about how to sail. That, and trial and error and some spills got me to the next level which was still quite low.

I could not afford a Hobie in college so I built my first cat out of marine plywood. It was painted candy apple red and it had varnished cedar crossarms. It actually turned out quite nice. And WOW!!, what a dating machine it was. I sailed it around Jacksonville and Tallahassee for about 5 years and sold it for twice what it cost to build.

Bought a used H16 about 1981 and sailed an H18 a lot after that. Then powerboats and racing monohulls and J-24's for about 10 years.

I bought a new H16 this past summer and I am reliving some of my college days. I can't believe there are not more beachcats around these days but I guess there are so many other options to get on the water now. Everytime I sail past a kite surfer or a sailboarder I have to smile a bit because I can sail faster, further and carry my wonderful wife or friends with me. My next door neighbor bought a 45 foot yacht two years ago. Did you know that you can buy a brand new Hobie for the price of rebuilding a diesel engine, or replacing a generatror? That also makes me smile.

The day I can no longer drag my Hobie to the beach by myself will be a sad day indeed.

I'm 54, bought my Hobie 16 in 2001 (my first boat ever) and having a blast.....I remember when the Dead Sea was just sick..... :D

Add a 71 to your list and I sail with another 71 wild man.
Got a 85 H-18 and a 2004 Getaway both with wings.
18 = more fun and lots faster !!!!

Sure don't feel 71 when I am on those boats !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

69 with a 20, had 16s but got too big and needed the flotation, great boat, We just daysail this thing, but its a blast. Now that the lake is down so we can get into it can't wait for summer..

I think I was 12 when I first sailed a cat (12ft Aqua Cat)
I'll be 60 this this year & looking forward to even more time on the water.
No shortage of boats here..... :D :D :D
