Use craigslist to find people buying boats. Post an ad in boats for sale. See: http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/boa/4587822799.html Focus less on racing and more on sailing and fun. Grill out after events and hang out. Have a winter party to keep people in touch. Create away events where you all go to some nice place that is not your usual place to sail. Find someone with a pontoon boat so that non sailing spouses can hang out without the hobie experience (assuming they don't want it). Set up a fleet website Our dues are optional and are $25. Be helpful to people new to the sport. Help them learn to set up their boats and sail. |
