H16 to H17 questions

Two questions;
What's the performance comparison between a H16 and H17 (standard)?
and
With trailering, my trailer is adjustable but setup for my H16. Will a H17 fit right on or will I need to adjust the rollers for the H17?

They're both very close in terms of outright speed. The 17 is a little faster upwind (points higher), the 16 maybe a little faster downwind (has a jib). The 16 is much better if you ever want to sail with a crew.



You may need to adjust the rollers, but it wouldn't be by much if at all. But with a 17, you are really better off using some type of cradle or bunk, at least on the front support. A straight roller will eventually damage the 17's hull. The bunk can be as simple as a short piece of lumber secured on top of the roller and protected with carpet - anything to spread out the load on the hull.

H17

The 17 is faster if lightly loaded, and in high winds. It's designed as a solo race boat. If you are carrying more than 1 passenger (unless you're all very small), the 16, with jib, is faster. The 17 Sport with the jib might be faster, especially if you use a boom with it.
I think the 17 will point higher, it seemed that way when I sailed my 17 against my friend on his 16.

Thanks for the advice guys, always lots of knowledge here.

I'm new to the H17 and they are a rare sight here in Australia. Afew around but nothing I can pick at for ideas/concepts so no doubt i'll be posting again soon under the H17 if the online manuals are chinese.
