My H16 currently has the Trenteck Jib Traveler car system (Jib Traveler cars that are controlled with a sheet that is tied to the traveler car, then runs through a cheek block then a cam cleat on the corner casting, then to the other corner casting, through the cleat, then block then to the traveler car.)

I recently acquired two of the Jib sheet car W/ Blocks that can be locked into the jib traveler track via a spring loaded handle on the block. I am thinking I am going to change to the locking type.

What are the advantages/disadvantages of each? What should I know about them?

I am a fairly experienced H16 sailor, but don’t race or care about shaving Nano-seconds off my time. I am thinking the system with the locking blocks would be one less sheet on the tramp, and a bit easier for my crew to handle. I wouldn’t adjust my jib traveler blocks much anyway.

Thanks for your advice!
Danny

Yes, the block on the car will run easier too. Less friction on the sheet than the tren tec cars. I would swap and dumb the traveler system.
