Howdy. I am new to this site. I turn 65 Jan 18 sailed Hobie's in the SF Bay back when I was a kid in the mid-late 60's. Raced mono-hull sailboats as well. We cruise and often excursion to all inclusive's with Hobie's to sail just spent a couple hours in Jamaica sailing one. LOVE THEM!

I live on a small airport the owner came to me asking me if I wanted a Hobie the owner was giving it up he hadn't paid his rent for years the owner of the airport didn't want it so...I said...sure. Why not! Haven't taken it yet waiting for paperwork to make sure its all legal, it will be. I looked it over not sure the age, not sure the model to be honest it appears to be a 14' or 16' Hobie. Other than rigging, sheets and cables and it appears in-tact. The trailer is rusty but usable. So...once I get a hold of it I plan on taking it apart and cleaning up the hull, polishing it and then re-rigging it.

Any suggestions, links or documents is appreciated. My plan is to sail it.

Cheers!

The search function of this forum, or a simple google search, will lead you as well.

Find the nearest Hobie fleet or dealer and have those guys look it over for a safety inspection.
