Matt, Am replacing a comptip on my H18. Should I epoxy the comptip in place and let dry BEFORE inserting rivets for the tang ...OR should I rivet the tang in place immediately after epoxying the tip in place?????OR, Does it matter which way to go???? Any help is appreciated ..... deejay |

Let the epoxy harden / cure first. You need to keep the tip in alignment while it cures... then pop the rivets. |

I would give it 12 hours for a complete cure. When I use Bondo, I can usually rivet after about an hour. I also use GFLEX and that takes a bit longer. It depends on heat and how much catalyst used. In Bondo, you can use too much catalyst and damage the integrity of the material as well. |
