having trouble installing a universal mount mama bob mast float on a hobie 18 with a composit tip.

The first rivet goes through the mounting shift and is supposed to use a seal cap. The seal cap will not fit through the hole in the mounting shaft.

I understand riveting on the two deck eyes but the instructions are for an aluminum mast not the comp tip. It says to install shift. Top deck eye without the seal caps because it mounts above the seal, however it seems to me that the comp tip doesn't have the same seal and I wonder if I do need to use additional seal caps?

Thanks in advance.

The sealing cap goes in the mast... not through the shaft.
