So upset, writing from my trampoline, waiting for tow hehe

What model boat?

Hobie Wave uses: 10700000 SHACKLE "BOW" 6.4 MM

The rest use: 20700001 SHACKLE BOW 5/16 PIN

OEM Hobie shackle from Riley Australia has breaking load rating of 2500Kg. But, as with everything on a boat, wear, corrosion, and work-hardening can and will cause failure. Mast tang shackles should be considered wear items and replaced when worn. Certainly if it’s a new-to-you boat, it’s $25 well spent. Also use safety wire.
