Hello all,

I just purchased an unknown year H14, I'd guess it's from the 80's since it doesn't have a dolphin striker. My question is I really don't want to spend the money it takes to make it a turbo but would like to install a striker but I can't find them for sale anywhere.

Also, I looked on the for sale boards and I can't find a parts for sale section. My rudders are pretty beat up and broken but again, don't want to spend almost $400 for new ones.

Thanks in advance

Seems like these guys have the aftermarket kit.

I’m not terribly impressed with the aftermarket kit, the cable and eyebolt setup stretches/flexes and doesn’t actually add a lot of stiffness to the front crossbar.

On my boat, I used the aftermarket post (which you can purchase separately) but fitted a solid steel rod, similar to the OEM setup, which ended up adding a lot of stiffness.

In the end, if you’re not racing and you’re not using the trapeze, then you may not necessarily need the striker anyway.

Thanks for the reply SM,

I looked at the kit but they are out of stock and I doubt they will get more in with it being discontinued. I don't plan on racing but since we often get 30 mph or more sustained winds here I was concerned with the amount of stress on the cross bar. I'd hate to end up with 2 halves of a hobie instead of one while one.
