HCE tiller connectors

Are the European tiller connectors the same as the H20 style connectors?

My boat was a saltwater boat and mine are seixed up on both sides. I tried to knock them loose but they won't budge. I could drill out the rivets and probably disassemble them but from being locked up the pins and the holes on the crossbar are pretty worn.

Yes, the Miracle 20 style...

They're not quite the same.

The H-20 connectors rotate on the tiller arm.

The HCE ones don't. I thought mine were siezed, too - until every Tiger I looked at had the same thing (no rotation).

Would it make sense to swap them out then? Seem like alot of unecessary wear on mine.

Sure - if you've got $112.50 burning a hole in your pocket. Knock yourself out.

I like the ones that do not rotate that are on my FX. I have had problems in past with the 20 style connectors comming loose on my old Hobie 17. The end would get loose.

The new ones that are on the FX are fine for me. But you need to remember to disconnect them before taking the tiller arms and cross bars apart.

I did have a problem with the threaded post that holds the cross bar comming out in a regatta. Fixed that with some thread locker and tightened it back up.
