Fleet 297 is kicking off our weekly gathering at Clinton Lake, Lawrence KS Tomorrow night May 1st 2012. We meet at the KSA lot in Blommington Park (not the ramp at the state park)

We plan on meeting every Tuesday evening around 5:30 to 6:00. There will be plenty of help around to show new folks the ropes, and some informal racing setup up each week.

You can call/email me, Ron Holm, at 913 284 6571 (ronholm at hotmail.com) or John Eaton with any questions

Lets get the 16's on the water!!!!!

I saw that you guys sometimes meet near Witchita. Do you have the dates for those meets? I am from NW Arkansas and could drive up.

After this kind of week last week...

Quote:
Our first Two Hulled Tuesday went well last night. The winds came and
the water warmed up. We were trapped out and flying hulls into the
sunset.

Ron Holm, Chris and Caden Bradshaw, John Eaton, Josh (H14 sailor, new
to the group) and myself got some good rides.

Chris showed me a great trick in raising the main. Thank you.
Ron knows how to fly a hull and wash his sails.
Josh has a fine swan dive to save the day.

FRIDAY: I will be out in the afternoon and evening sailing followed
by camping. (15mph, gusts to 20) Full moon.

SATURDAY Afternoon: video group, John's email. Let's get a good group and go. I got space for crew, if you are looking for a ride.

TUESDAY: another 6:00p, sail and go.

We hope you can come out to one or all. Let us know how we can help you get out.

looking for TGIF, Blair Sutton

Pretty light air last night. But we still managed to take a couple new friends out for their first ride on a Hobie.

Last Tuesday night we had some fun racing.. With a recorded average spd of 10mph (including rigging time and some waiting) and a top speed of 19.57mph on my boat. This amounted to covering around 15miles during our time on the lake last night.

The lake provided a nice windward leeward course using some "no wake" marks which happened to lay out VERY nicely for our purposes.. and we even threw in a reaching leg for good measure once or twice.. Racing to the Marina and back to our 'regular' course.

I can't wait to get out and do it again it was great fun everyone!

Again we had another great Tuesday night. John introduced a new Hobie sailor to her recently purchased boat. and I spent the night on the wire flying a hull..

It is supposed to be great weather this weekend.. and I know there are several of us who cannot make the Regatta's.... So we are hoping to have a nice group out sometime Saturday or Sunday. I will probably be out there from Saturday afternoon until Sunday afternoon...

Hope to see you out there this weekend..

And if not.. Look for us again on Tuesday!
