Is there anyone here from Northwest Arkansas? I am new to Hobies and sailing. I am picking up a Hobie 14 and a 16 and was wondering if anyone could help me rig it and to go sailing with. Thanks.

How far Northwest are you? I'm guessing Fayetteville- Bentonville area?

I'm a new sailor myself but joined the Grande Maumelle sailing club http://www.gmsc.org/ and got plenty of help from the guys there. I'm sure if you had a free weekend and could trailer a boat a few of us could meet you there and show you the ropes? Just an idea. It's amazing how much you can learn from a seasoned sailor.

You guessed right. I am close to Fayetteville. I was hoping with Beaver Lake so near there would be a few Hobie owners around. I will have to take you up on your offer to sail with you guys. I have a 16 that is almost ready to sail and a 14 I am working on.

Have you looked at this website yet? http://beaverlakesailclub.com/

Try contacting someone there I'm sure they would help too.

I too am just getting started here in NW Arkansas. It appears there is definitely some interest in this area. I do not have a boat yet but I am going to look tomorrow at Red Bud marina over in Claremore OK. Does anyone know of any nice Hobies in this area for sale? For new boats I like the getaway due to its versatility. Eventually I also want to lean to sail the monohulls. Hope to hear how everyone is doing here. James
