Another very entertaining effort there Russ!  I enjoyed watching that and listening to your always interesting commentary. The footage of those Soldier crabs turned out great. As Tony said, you captured the spirit of the trip really well. So what's next? |

I couldn't sail year round without`having a good set of breathable waders, and a lightweight (cycling) jacket. Probably the fact that I live about 200 mile north of Sydney helps, as even winter here is pretty mild. What I don't get though, are Island owners who have only used their boat about five times in a year. That seems a waste to me. |

Thanks Mark. I wasn't expecting to have enough footage to put something together but I was pretty happy with it in the end. Thinking about that turtle, in hindsight I should have dragged the lot to shore and cut up the net to save anything else getting caught up in it I spose. Dunno what's next but I do want to make the most of this weather while its here. |

Hi Slaughter, just got around to looking at this thread. Great video. Your most "professional" production yet. Impressive. Some of that scenery, as you went up that river, was a bit like some of the areas we paddle around here. Keith |

Thanks CGM. Some famous person once said 'It didn't happen without pics', so now I never go anywhere without the camera. Dunno who it was  Where were ya ?I thought of that myself Keith as me and Mark peddled up. Not that I've been to your neck of the woods but from your trip reports, I feel as though I have. Mark went back up there the next day but unfortunately when the tide goes out it ain't sand but mud. High tide is definitely the only time explore that spot. Thanks for your comments mate. Looking forward to your comparison report on phone apps etc. on you next trip. That's something I need to invest in so I'll be interested to hear your review. Have a great trip. |

I had to get back on again because I forgot to copy my tide charts PDF to my tablet. That is another thing that I do--no paper tide charts. Just upload the pdf file to "Documents" folder on the tablet. Here is my partial tide charts for Flamingo-East Cape Sable which I am using for this trip.  I also have pdf versions of all my manuals for each electronic gadget I take: camera, camcorder (2), knots pdf, Garmin 78 GPS, Galaxy tablet, etc. I carry nothing paper; well, I do take toilet paper. Thanks Ian. Enjoyed yours and Doris's company mate. I'll txt you Mickey's ( Mike's ) phone no. down at Lakes Entrance. He's a good contact. Used to be a regular on the forum and Mark and I did a trip around Jervis Bay and Broughton Island with him a few years back. ( brain freeze indeed )
