I have had an H16 for two years, have never used a harness to hike out. I have the trapeze wires you see below:

But nothing else. What other accessories do I need to purchase? Since I've never owned a harness, please list literally everything I would need to attach those wires to me.

1) Shackle to connect wires to mast tang.
2) Two lengths of line, approx 1/4" Dia x 3' long.
3) Two trapeze rings (piece that your trap hook engages into, "J&H" handles are the most popular on Hobies).
4) Two plastic rope stop/dogbones. These are used to set the trapeze height.
5) One piece of 1/4" bungee about 8 feet long.

This is the bare bones equipment needed for a single trapeze system. Double the quantity of items 2 thru 5 for a double trap system. You can also add a pulley to the end of each trap wire to make the system run more smoothly and you can add more elaborate "on the fly" height adjustment systems if desired.

What about a harness and some kind of connector?
And where do I use the parts you named?

p.s. I don't have a harness, or any such equipment. I've never had to use it. I've just held onto the trapeze wires or sat down and used the hiking straps. Do I need a different type of lifejacket?

Does anyone have a diagram, and instructions, on how to put all the parts together, and hook yourself up?
What kind of harness system should I buy?
What kind of trapeze hook?

The assembly manuals show the setup. These are in the model FAQ and our support area:

You can see options for trapeze seats in the parts catalog:
