hi there - been some time since I posted here but was wondering about how some of our expedition style folks carry water on board the AI aside from throwing a bunch of water bottles down below. Here in Florida, water porting is a big deal if you don't have access to potable water in between stops...

2x 6l MSR Drom bags inside the hull (rear), and 6x 2l coke bottles left and right of the cockpit ( 3 each side inside the hull). They fit perfectly if you push them in through the front hatch. A string around the bottle neck makes retrieving easier.

For day trips here in Maui, I use a Camelback (3/4 gal) clipped to the bungees right behind the seat under the rear aka support. Not the same, but takes up little space in a underused area.

I use those soft collapsible plastic containers, roughly cube shaped, robust, Spigot and handle on top.
Holds 20 litres, (42 US Pints ), and conforms to Hull shape wherever it is stowed occupying minimal space.

Me too. They're easy to get through the rear 8" hatch if you don't fill them right up.

i also carry a few MSR 6 liter dorm lite bags inside the hull just in front of the seat inside the hull. i also carry 2 3 liter camelbacks and a few nalgine 1 liter bottles along the sides of the hull.

Real camelbaks are pricey. Costco currently has High Sierra brand 2 liter camelbaks for $20!! Mine has been out twice. Water is shed by the fabric and water stays cold. lots of storage pockets for everything.

In mine, the water gets lukewarm after 2-3 hours so I fill it up with ice first, and then add water. Helps it stay cooler for longer.

I use the Chekika 32 QT cooler to carry most my water which is pre frozen in 1.5 or 3 liter bottles. the rest goes in the hull.

Polecat, like Quirkster, carries a lot of frozen water in his oversized cooler. I carry some beer in my cooler and a couple of small gatorade bottles, but that is about it. I carry my water in 10 L Dromedary bags. These bags are indestructible, last forever. I also put bottles of Gatorade in the bottom the hull. They can get "lost" so you need something to poke them back into the daylight.
