Hey everyone,

Brand new to the forums here so I apologize if this information has already been posted somewhere. I just recently bought a Hobie 14 Turbo and was setting it up this past weekend to be sure everything was in order. One thing I did not find was a guide on how to setup the jib. I have all the parts I am just very new to sailing and the Hobie Cat scene so I was not confident that it was rigged correctly.

I went through the forums but didn't find anything specifically, nor did I find anything online(most of the guides either talk about just the mainsail or a different jib setup). The guide located at http://www.hobiecat.com/support/pdfs/e_turbojib.pdf shows everything I know how to do but does not discuss how to secure the jib to the grommets in the trampoline. The Hobie 14 manual, located here http://www.hobiecat.com/support/pdfs/e_h14manual.pdf, doesn't talk about a jib at all, which is to be expected.

Does anyone know of a good step-by-step guide on how to rig a H14T jib?

Thanks,
Cassj

Hello,
The Jib is not attached directly to the trampoline : it goes throug 2 blocks that are fixed on the trampoline, through the groomets. You might check the french documentation (which by the way is really well redacted) with color picture that might help you regarging the jib lines & blocks :

I don't have much information yet as I'll sail my H14T in august and I'm in the process of retrieving/completing all the rigging/blocks/lines that are missing or need to be replaced. Anyway, there are so much information and picture in this forum that you should be able to locate all the necessary info quite easily.

Hi,

This might help although the jib is set up like a H-16 in this guide, it'll give you an idea about the blocks and stuff:

That French PDF makes me very jealous. My boat is from the 70's and I'd love to have a brand spanking new 14 like in those pictures! That tramp is virtually invisible! I've got a fairly new official Hobie tramp and it doesn't look anywhere near as good as that one.

Does anyone know if Hobie Europe ships H-14's overseas? :D
