I have a hard time keeping the rear end down and the rudder in the water while sailing. I've been told the "new" rudder system can accommodate longer rudder. Anyvody retro-fit a longer rudder for the older design?

The original post disappeared but I did repost some of the details here:

If I was doing it again I wouldn't cut the original mechanism at all but would reshape the rudder blade to fit (one of Roadrunner's suggestions)
Ignore the extra lines I added back then. This was before the separate up/down lines came out.
I have recently upgraded to the full twin up/down lines using an Adventure upgrade kit. For that to work I had to tie down the older pull up rudder mount to the little brass hull insert.
It was an easy fit and works well! :)
