Is a trapeze really needed on an H14? Can you manage without one?

You don't need one - after all, the 14 was around for many years before the trapeze became class legal.

However, you'd best make sure the hiking straps are in good shape and your stomach muscles are, too.

The boat is a lot easier to sail in a blow with the trapeze.

no you don't need them.... i sailed mine for many years w/o them and gone plenty fast
