I read a lot of the paint coming off the aka brace. Is it best to contunually spray with a spray can, powdercoat them?

Any recomendations to keep the thinng looking great?

I give them a wipe down with a rag and Lanox. Other than normal scratches from wear and tear the paint's looking good.

Yes Paul and Rebecca. Welcome to the scabby aka club. I thought I had got out of it pretty good after 2 1/2 years without a paint bluster but then one day I opened up the aka bag and 2 of the akas were blistered to buggery. After rubbing back thoroughly, I used Glyptal as a base before spray painting with a high temperature engine enamel but it's early days and although, so far it's standing up pretty well, I can't be convinced yet that it's the best coating. Others may like to comment on their successes or failures.

Best of luck with it.

thanks for the reply; it go me thinking about the issue when I read that the tramps do quite a bit of damage to the paint.

I am going to need some paint after this season due to the Tramp rub..... but I can't live without them...
Do we have an official paint recommendation from Hobie or a salt water sailor????
