Trailering Motor/Cheata Motor Mount. Honda Parts/Accessories

Just picked up a used 1996 Honda BF2D 2HP motor last evening along with a new 3184 Cheata motor mount.
-- Would it be ok to have the motor attached to the Cheata while trailering? If not where would you suggest storing the motor during trailering?
-- Where is the best place to obtain Honda parts & accessories? I need an emergency repair kit, spark plug, propeller, filters, cover, engine/gear oil.

Do not trailer with the motor on the mount. Maybe make a small platform of plywood on the trailer for Tying down.

Never tow a boat and trailer with an outboard mounted to the boat. There is too much bouncing aft of the trailer axle and will likely cause damage to the mount and your motor will become a road kill.

Ideally, you would want to have the motor either in the back of the truck, or in a storage box on the trailer, but not hanging off the back.

It would be different with a true motor boat designed to have an outboard motor.

I bolted a 2x6 horizontally to the mast support on the trailer and just clamp the motor on there for trailering. No problems yet and I've got about 1000 miles logged on the trailer.

That's also a very good alternative, a lot less stress fore of the trailer axle than aft.
