 The Adventure Island Owners Map is going offline, as soon as March 2nd. Maybe earlier. This sudden news was received today, February 28th, from the folks at Platial.com (providers of the mapping service). From what I read on their "For More Information" website, this was sudden. (http://platial.typepad.com/)

I'd like to thank all the AI Owners that participated. We were up to 132 worldwide "markers". I was hoping Platial would overcome their slow software problems, and that would prompt greater participation. (Looks like the opposite thing happened.) Gee, and I was anxiously waiting to see where all the new Tandem AI owners were going to pop up!

Nevertheless, thanks everyone. Although a list is nice, I still think it's easier to have a VISUAL map of AI owners - now it's a matter of finding another online mapping service. If there is one.

Steven57 created a new AI Owners Map in Google Maps. It's awesome and we need more people to join. Here is how.

Go to...

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?hl=en&gl=us&ptab=0&ie=UTF8&view=map&msa=0&msid=113244570275810649834.000487a95a221bfcd3a1a&z=13

1. Create a Google account (or sign in if you already have one).
2. Go to the Adventure Island Owners Group map.
3. Click the "Edit" button (only present after you log in) - The button is located in the top right of the panel on the left side of the page that lists the links.
4. Locate the area you want to mark on the map. It's best to be zoomed in close to be ready to mark the location accurately.
5. When you click "Edit", three icons will appear at the top left of the map panel. Click the pushpin icon, which will attach a pushpin to your mouse pointer that you can click to attach to the location you want to mark.
6. When you position the pushpin to mark the location of interest, a box will appear that allows you to name the location, change the syle and color of the pushpin, make a comment, etc.

I just added my Virginia location to the map. I sold my AI and bought a TI.

How do you change the marker to a sail boat from a pin?

Great work Steven57, went in and added mine, then I got all excited and created one of my own with all my local launch sites and sites that I enjoy visiting when out sailing/diving and fishing, drop in for a visit and see why I love living on the Mornington Peninsula in Australia. Just wish I could figure out how to link video's and will upgrade images as I get them.

Jump on board and add yourselves to the AI/TI owners list, maybe do what I have done as well, so we can see why we love your sites and possibly even visit a new site with some local knowledge to help.

This is very cool!! Thanks steven57. How do we make it so everyone on the forum puts their location in. I'm asssuming that I'm not the only person in CA to be experiencing all that is the AI.

On the map with my new 2010 Ivory Dune AI. Broke it in last week on the Outer Banks, Ocracoke Island - all good.

Live at Lake Norman, NC.
