This is my first season with a cat and i find the 14 good for single handed sailing. I had my first capsize this week in a strong gust the boat pitchpoled as I did not release the main in time. I had a righting line - just a rope attached to the base of the mast but i could not get the boat up again. I am 13st/182lbs/85kg and thought I would have no problem. The wind was about 14mph. I tried moving forward on the float to bring the boat up into wind but it stayed mostly across the wind. In the end i had to get help from a rib. Anyone got any tips?
thanks

Depends on wind and possibly currents too. Not always easy to pivot the boat around, so moving fore and aft on the hull or possibly swimming and holding the bow to swing it around.

Thanks Matt, I will try swimming to bring the bow into the wind and see if that works.

Also you will want to have the righting line higher than the midline of the boat. The front pylon works well.
