Took my PA out to the driveway to do a season's-end inspection, lube, and a once-over with 303 protectant. I thought I had been pretty thorough with washing down the PA and keeping the metal parts protected from the salt after each use. One area I hadn't thought of was under the seat. When I took off the seat I found quite a lot of corrosion of the metal parts. The molded-in bolts that the seat attaches to seem to be particularly susceptable to attack, as they are in an area where water tends to pool. The screw attaching the seat tiedown strap appears not to be made of stainless steel and was badly rusted. I'll be replacing that. From now on, I'll definately remove the seat after every few trips to keep this area well cleaned and protected.
