Anyone have any suggestions regarding removing the "gum" residue that some tapes leave on sails?
Looks like the previous owner replaced all the batten tape but, they used duct tape. Rats. The residue has leached through the sails, leaving a sticky film.

Ideas? Thanks in advance,

3M Adhesive Remover.

Try it in a small area to make sure it doesn't pull the color out of the sail.
Don't use any more than you absolutely have to.

Thanks M, I'll give it a try. Since I can only access the exterior of the sail, inside the pockets may have to remain.

The World's largest sticky note (Hobie of course).

Acetone (brush thinners) was the only thing that would do it for me.

Thanks.
I was concerned that acetone would dry rot the sail material. No probs since you used it on yours?

Nothing so far, made sure it was washed properly after I used it, just couldn't get it off with anything else, I guess only time will tell if it rots away!
