Sorry if this is a repost I thought I just submitted this post. I just recently bought a new to me Hobie Pro Angler and wanted to get you guys thougths on a used Thule 520 Kayak Stacking system I was looking to buy. I have a 08 camry and was not sure if this would be the right rack for me. Does anyone know if this will be a good rack for the pro angler? Im planning on loading and unloading myself.

Is your vehicle a Camry sedan or a station wagon? Honestly, I can't see how you would be able to safely load a PA on top of a sedan. I love my PA, but it's a big, heavy boat. If you are driving a sedan, I'd consider a trailer.

If you have a station wagon, I can highly recommend the Yakima setup I use on my Highlander. It's a little pricey, but it's been worth it. Here's a post on my setup

Good luck!

I have a small 2-door compact and have no problem using a "Rack & Roll". Here is a youtube video showing how easy it can be.

As others have shown, car topping a PA can look and sound very intimidating but it really isn't all that bad at all. You never lift more than half of the kayak at a time. I believe the height and angle can play more of a factor than the weight.

On my Jeep Wrangler I use the Thule Hydro-Glide saddles on the rear and the Set-To-Go saddles on the front. I have the rear of the PA lined up with the racks and the nose up to beside the rear tire. I lift the front up to the rack then walk back and lift the rear and slide forward. It slides very easy on the Hydro-Glides. Coming down is just the reverse.
