Officially, my package says

"Cable Ties"
"Amaaras Para Cables"
"Attaches Pour Cables"
In the islands we just say, "da kine".

It's all good.

I think I was getting 'wire ties' mixed up with 'twist ties'. Now I got it. I think Ty-Wrap might have been the original.

Here they just say "It's all good."

I tried my new spray skirts for the first time on Tuesday. They worked great! They successfully contained all the spray from the aka knuckles very nicely. My boat and the mainsail stayed nice and dry.

I found that to keep the skirts taut, we needed to install grommets on each of the 3 corners.

See videos below of them in action deflecting all the spray.

Nice taut install! Very nicely done.

Unless something changes, you got the last gray one :o They discontinued the blue-gray color (my favorite). Plenty of black or beige (yellow-brown) available.

If anyone really wants a gray, find and buy a 50' roll (6' wide) of gray shadecloth at Ace Hardware, Lowes, or Home Depot and ship it to me and Dee will make and ship a sprayskirt to you in exchange. :)

Enjoy!

Here's an example of what I use for a quick release on my fishing AI. You won't need to add a cleat, just a loop or hook on the end of the line to hold it.

Sorry for posting in an old forum, I would like to add cleats like this for my spray skirt- There are screws in my 2015 that look like it would match this. Can you tell me where you purchased this cleat? Is it a standard size?

Those screws are probably for the interior pulley for the rudder up/down lines.

The cleat I used in that picture is the same clam cleat Hobie uses for the sheet and reefing lines, just without the fairlead on top.

I think you guys must be avoiding strong winds! I have seen my sail get wet three feet above my head, and that is WITH spray skirts! :D :D

Did your boat also have those screws in that position? Do you think I could just put cleats on and use the same screw holes to attach everything?

Thanks!

You might be able to use one of them. Even if the spacing is the same (I doubt it) the angle would probably not be optimal (perpendicular to the line is best).

I know, drilling that first hole in a new boat is hard. 8)
