Hi Ron,
I just installed a 46# bass yaks Em unit with motor lift kit.If one word could describe it awesome would be the word. Steve at bass yaks has really done a great job putting this kit together! Now I can peddle, sail or motor to my fishing spot and my shoulder still feels great.

Jd , you mention a three things I am wondering about...first are you in a PA? I ask, as I would like to know if the 46# is enough thrust for it. Second you mention an EM, is that the 300 dollar electronic control? If so what's important about it? and last, you mention a motor lift kit...was that more, and how much if so?
Thanks for the inquisition...

I use a #45lb motor (Varimax-GreatWhite), and cruise at 5mph. Thats my top speed with a full payload of gear and a full bait tank.

This is from the Bassyak site:

Bassyaks Hobie Pro Angler
Motor, Pedal, Paddle, all with the same boat. Foot controlled steering, Variable speed, Stowable if you want to pedal or paddle.
Priced for: $999.

Jimmy, post some pix of your new motor. Everyone wants to see a commercial product that is for sale in the market made for the PA. Not many good pictures of Motorized PA's out there.

Hey Guys,
First I am a PA owner the 46# of thrust seems to be plenty of power ,I weigh 270lbs .The EM unit is really a pulse width modulation module which pulses the current to the motor which increases battery run time greatly over regular straight current which is constant. the lift unit allows raising or lowering motor from seated position .I really like this setup I have a Pm-2 platinum sears battery same frame as the oddesy 1500. I will take some pics as soon as I can

I am expecting my kit from Bassyaks this coming week. Steve has had several obsticles to overcome so his shipping out dates are about a month behind. Did you use the size 22 battery? Did you put 2 in parrallel or just a single battery? Have you also considered putting in a trickle charger so you don't have to take the batteries out to charge? Lots of questions..:) Forward your pictures to me also if you have time, I will post some when I am set up.

David b.

David,
PM sent to you. Another thing to remember guys is you must get a certificate of origin from Hobie for your motor vehicle registration. In New Jersey you must have it before you get your registration numbers.
