I've recently returned from a trip to Lake Tahoe. On sailing day two I noticed that I could only turn one way. Having reached the shore I noticed a lot of slack in the rudder control line on the one side so adjusted it accordingly. That evening when the lines had dried out I noticed that the steering had gone really tight. Should I be using some kind of lubricant on the lines?
Thanks JJ.

Extreme heating / cooling can expand or contract the kayak which makes lines get loose or tighter. Not typically an issue, but hot days and very cold nights or water could do it I suppose. Make the lines were a bit tight and got very tight as the boat heated? No lubrication is required with the newer lines (spectra). It is polyethylene and very slippery.
