I bought a used 2002 Getaway with a Karavan trailer with one roller at each corner of the trailer.,

A dealer suggested using two rollers at each corner because one roller in each corner can damage the hull due to the pressure on the hull. On my boat, the keel dents in back under the one roller (however, it does bend back after an hour or two).

I was planning to add double rollers under the back of the boat but leave the single rollers in front. Is this sufficient to prevent hull damage or do I need double rollers in all 4 corners or wooden bunks instead.

The Hobie trailers have doubles all around. There is typically more load on the forwards as the bows are long.

Matt,

My local dealer recommended just replacing the single rollers in back with double rollers. The front does not bow from the weight so this seems fine to me.

Could I damage the Getaway hulls with only singles in the front?

Thanks!
