Dave, sad to hear. I had a similar problem with my 2009 Oasis - SailingScene filed the warranty claim for me and I had a new hull in 14 days.

Thanks for your words of support guys. I'd give my baby a Viking funeral - douse her with petrol, set fire to her and push her out to sea, but I think the E.P.A. might object.

Woo Hoo! Hobie has agreed to replace my 3 year old cracked hull for free and my corroded crossbars and akas for $200. What a great company.

Thanks Dave, I'd love to make it to Jervis Bay, but it's touch and go whether my new boat will arrive in time.

Chris
That's great news!
Look forward to catching up at JB or next time i'm up your way.
If you come to JB & it hasn't arrived, you could just collect it direct :D

That's not such a bad idea Mickey. Trouble is, I'm not sure how much setting up the new hull will require. I guess it'll need the old mast well and brace transferred and I don't know if the crossbars will be already fitted.

Under the circumstances, i would be amazed if they couldn't help you out with a loan boat for the weekend

I just got my replacement hull from Hobie who replaced a much older damaged hull at a modest pro-rated price. Big Aloha to Hobie for backing their product and Big Mahalo to Windward Boats who did a great job setting up the new hull and getting me back on the water. Thanks Guys!

I have encountered the same problem last April. After I file my complaint to a not so qualified dealer here in Taiwan. They said I have to pay for this replacement. Can any one help me to claim my warranty? My serial no. is [ccmd7368h809] and I am so sure it is less than 3 years from the day of purchase. I am a reasonable owner with respect to the ocean and my investments. Thanks.

Your regional distributor is Hobie Cat Australasia. http://www.hobiecat.com.au

The serial number (ccmd1368h809) shows the boat is about 5 years old, so you would need proof of recent purchase to adjust the timeline.
