Stobbo thats one of my all time favourite parts of the country :D . Have had some great camping, fishing, kayaking trips to Fletchers, Stony and Fantail. We have done the hike from Stony to Fletchers and even done some mountan biking in the area. The fishing around Fletchers can be sensational - but it can get very windy and gnarly. At low tide a lot of the reef between Flat Top Island and Fletchers is exposed and as you say when wind is running against tide with a bit of swell pushing through Colville Channel its not a nice place to be. Having seen you footage makes me we want to get back up the Mandel.
