I've got 2 weeks leave in early March. While I've got a few other commitments I wouldn’t mind getting the AI wet (other than rain!). Might be interested an overnighter. Will need to pitch a tent though – don’t have a hammock.
Out of mobile phone range a bonus :D

Dunns Swamp is an option. Anyone interested?

Certainly am. Dunns Swamp isn't really an AI sort of place. It's more of an Adventure mode. High cliffs with narrow gorge. If there was any wind it would be erratic. But that's not to say it can't be done. I doubt that an AI has ever been there so could be a challenge and fun. No mobile reception :D

How about Broughton ? Long, long overdue. I'm sure a few others would be keen on that one.

I agree. Dunns Swamp is a great place for kayaking but there is barely enough room to tack if the wind did come up.
The camping conditions on BI have changed. There are now camping platforms built and you have to book and pay.
I'd be up for a trip back there for sure. It does make it more difficult having to book as the trip would be weather dependant. Launching from Sandy Point could be an option if the weather wasn't favourable.
When we finally get our summer Nor'Easters  I'd be keen to do a Terrigal to Pretty Beach day trip again. :)

I've just been up at Nelson Bay for the last few days and we took a ferry across to Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest where there looks like easy camping on Coorrie Island at the mouth of the Myall River. There looked like some pretty remote beaches to me. Just playing around in the bay down to Soldiers Point would be good. There was the biggest pod of Bottle Nosed Dolphins I've ever seen in the bay. The place is look'n pretty healthy. Just an option. But I'm up for anything at the moment. What do ya reckon Cows. It's your post :D

Well I seem to be consistent. I’ve been thinking up some plans of places to visit. Now however, predictions for particularly large rain events seem to be the order of the day. Pretty sure this has happened for just about every trip over the last few months….
I was entertaining some thought of visiting Old Adaminaby on Lake Eucumbene and seeing if I could pick up the old township with the side scan sonar. The lake was created in the 50’s as part of the Snowy Hydro scheme. The town of Adaminaby had to be relocated to higher ground due to the flooding of the dam. During the recent drought parts of the old town were exposed as the lake levels went down. Here was I wondering if it was going to be deep enough.
Was also thinking of stopping off in Canberra. Hints at 12 months’ worth of rain are putting me off this idea.
Have a feeling camping may be off the agenda for the moment.
Never know I might be the first AI to sail Lake George….
Dave, where abouts do you launch at Pearl Beach? Looks like Patonga might be a little more AI friendly.
Right I’m off to look up an “Ark” conversion kit for my AI :)

We have access to a house at the south end of the beach - we'll carry it over the sand and go out from there.

The weather forcasters have predicted rain nearly every day this year and most of the time they're wrong. As long as there's wind it's OK, I tend to get wet anyway on the AI.

This might need more looking into. Might be a little less wet. Not sure if dry enough for tents etc though...

Wild weather we're having. Maybe I should offer my services. To drought areas. Plan B was to photograph star trails. Kind of need stars for that! I'll keep watching the weather
