I just downloaded a video of someone waterskiing behind a Hobie 16 in Germany. Has anyone tried skiing or wakeboarding behind a 16?

Where would you connect the tow line? Can the rear cross peice take that sort of stress?

Maybe the tow line could be connected jointly to the two rear stantions that connect to the hulls?

Its been done behind a H18 using the daggerboard. I would make a bridle from each of the corner castings, however the rear crossbar if more than strong enough to pull a skier. I would like to see the video you downloaded please direct me to the link.

The webpage is in German, but the video links are at the top - pretty darn cool! The 16 actually pulls the skiier up out of the water - I would have thought that the only way to get up skiing would be to ease in off the back of the cat while it's sailing and then feed the tow line out slowly.

Do you have video of the 18?

The shot is on Sharing The Wind & A Moments Glory video. Hobie Cat part number 84430201. The entire video is awesome, ever seen a Cat fly, or sail on sand!
