Hi all, I am defiantly a new-be I just bought a 2012 Adventure Island and took it out for the first sail, after wards I noticed some ware on the plastic bearing ring. In the manual it says there should be a 1/8-1/4 gap between the collar on the mast and the plastic bearing ring, mine looks like its about 1/6. Is there a way I can adjust the hight between the collar on the mast and the plastic bearing ring.
Thanks in advance
Pat

As long as the spool isn't rubbing, closer to the deck the better. If the gap is larger, the reefing line can fall off the spool when tacking and get lodged under the spool and jam.

To adjust on an AI, you unlock and then turn the 2 turnbuckles from the front hatch then re-lock (with each nut). I hope that makes sense. Search the forums and there should be a better step by step instructions.

I did a search and read them all, so I thought I would attempted to adjust the mast gap in-between the collar on the mast and the plastic bearing ring. I was able to get the 1/8 that was recommended but once I got that, the locking mechanism was bound and would not work freely, so I put it back where I started and the lock works fine now. But the collar is still rubbing on the plastic bearing ring. any help would be great thanks.
