They're original, I'm looking to get a replacement set. They're pretty blown out and starting to wear through in places. Love sailing with them, I have others but I just can't bear the thought of putting something else on the boat.

We just tied it to the reefing grommet and a loop around the batten itself.

I like those sails with that hull. It is a good combination.

I also like your Hobie name - BananaFloat. Very fitting!

Welcome aboard.

Thank you for the welcome:)

I have stopped in here from time to time for I am guessing around 10 years?

Just never registered.

I love my Hobie, I bought it in 1988 on the advice of a good friend who had sailed since being a kid....we were fresh outta high school..(Hey Pete, whats the most fun per dollar you can get in a sailboat?)...it is mostly orginal and a bit faded but it is still amazing how the sun still lights up the sails and makes everything around it just glow:) It stops folks walking by when on the beach in their tracks.

It has seen everything from a Lake Michigan tempest with 4 aboard(what a sled ride!) to putzing around some little lakes on calmish days and we even managed to sail 2 up on the edge of a storm that (we later learned)spawned some downbursts that leveled several square miles of forest...we actually spent most of that day in the water and yes, it was multiple day aspirin trip afterwards:)

What a wonderful ride.

Best,
Mark
