Hull Repair

Our Getaway lived up to its namesake and got away on us off the dock during a storm while we were away. It washed up on some rocks and the rudders are gouged up pretty good. I'm more concered about the hulls. There are a few deep rocks scrapes - one of which is probably close to going right through.

Is there any material that sticks to the poly hulls which I could use as a filler? West Marine epoxy?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Unfortunatly there is nothing that we know of to use as a filler. The best solution is to leave it alone or use a razir to scrape off the excess plastic. The hulls are pretty thick, so the gouge would have to be really deep. At least 3/8" and more like 1/2".

Would one of the old P-Tex candles used to repair alpine ski bases work?
It is simply melted in. They come in pencil size sticks and you just light the end and drip it in.

I don't think there is much of anything that will stick.

i have 2 cracks in my STBD hull right around where the fore crossbar attaches to the hull at the bow....how do i repair those??

I know they make little plastic sticks like hot glue for plastic kayaks.....maybe that would work?

Cracks in the material at the crossbars are a warranty issue. Contact a dealer for warranty consideration. We will cover beyond the normal stated period and at least offer highly discounted replacement hulls for older boats.

My boat is a 2001

I would try Ray-Crete from Lee Valley in Canada. Not sure where in the US.
