Thundley,
I bought a used Tiger cut Elliott spin ( 300 ), a used Tiger endpole snuffer with aluminum hoop and elliott bag ( 260 ). I have it set up on a solid 28' mast currently and am repairing an SX mast with tip to run a squaretop Tiger main. I had the spin halyard and block configuration set up by a Tybee racer and did it based on simplicity and cleanliness of the deck. We were talking about my SX mast yesterday, specifically how to attach the spin. Based on the fragility of the comptip it doesn't seem smart to rivet a tang on it for the spin. Not that it would break, rather the rivets might pull out. The solution is to mount a cheek block vertically and a bail below it that attaches thru the luff track on the back of the tip. This way you are diffusing vertical and horizontal pressure and utilizing the entire tip for strength, not just pulling on rivets in plastic. If you want pics or need more info e-mail me
