I have never worked w/fiberglass before.

Can anyone tell me if one layer of fiberglass is enough for the patches on anchorplates - or does it need to be severel layers thick.

thanks

Nevermind-I see in an old post Matt recomended one layer of glass matt and one layer of weave.

So, is it that bad if I dont have the layer of glass matt underneath?? What is the purpose for the glass matt?

Purpose of the matte? Strength. Woven glass is bi-directional in strength. Matte has fibre that is random in its direction making an all-directional strength. You can not really squeegee matte by itself, so we lay woven over it for working.

Problem? Not really. If the boat is actually cracked, you might want more glass than less...of any type.
