Review the owner's manual for proper storage - we do not recommend leaving it in water - I'm sure you could figure something out - click the support link at the top of this page to download the manual if you don't have a copy.

I would be concerned about the water chemistry in the pool. If no one is using it I'm assuming no one is keeping the pH balance and treating it for algae, etc. If it's not balanced it could have serious impact on the hull. You'd also have to anchor it so it doesn't rub the coping with wind, etc. and watch for any accumulation of water inside the hull from small leaks accumulating over long term immersion in the water. The concrete around the pool wouldn't be a problem as long as you rig something to keep the boat protected from direct contact and follow these guidelines: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=17730

My recommendation if you have enough concrete space to sit it on would be to build a basic square wood base, put the 2 PVC 3-4 inch diameter pipes on top (long enough to work) and use that as a cradle/storage spot. It probably wouldn't hurt to cover the PA with some sort of cover to protect it from UV and the elements.

That would be an economical solution. Just my thoughts...

It would certainly be well supported.

I doubt any sort of pool water, minus chemicals, would damage your plastic hull.

If you don't to store it on concrete, put some carpet under it or build a small wooden craddle.

Nothing is going to support your hull as well nor as safely as water. And if water and algae are damaging to our hulls, we're all in big trouble.

Storing it in the pool isn't a bad idea, as long as you can protect the topside from prolonged sun exposure and make sure the hull doesn't get constantly scraped against a rough coping.

There is a difference between spending the day on the water VS long term.

The fact that the manufacturer does not recommend storing it in water is reason enough for me not to do it, but others are please to do as they wish.

Spend enough days on the water and you have long term water exposure.

While I'm sure the plastic used to make these boats will degrade over time due to UV exposure from the sun (what doesn't the sun damage) I've never seen a hull degrade from exposure to water and I doubt it would happen in a person's lifetime.

Now I'm worried about the plastic rain barrels I'm using to catch roof run-off.

wrap it in plastic so the hull doesnt touch the water, and toss her in! thats fast simple and easy to do.

The primary concern leaving a kayak in water is growth on the hull. The little critters that grow will drill into the surface after a while and leave your kayak or boat pitted after cleaning them off.
