Tough fishing this long weekend. I couldn't find the reds anywhere. I did catch about 11 flounder total, but only one keeper. I hope you guys fared better than I. I blame it on the strong wind and storm pressure

You had it better than I did in Montana. On Thursday, we got rained on, sleeted on, hailed on, and snowed on. All while trying to fly fish in 30 mph winds. But for about a half hour, we were in shirtsleeves. Hit it all that day...

The 20+ inch rainbows and brownies made up for it, though.

The sturgeon fishing was pretty good here in Portland. I posted a separate thread on my trip. Highlight was a 5 footer.

Rocky Rabb where were you in Montana? I live in Big Sky. Thought you might be on Hebgen.

Nice fish in that lake

I caught this brown in the fall. Especially during the spawn you can kayak right into the mouth of the river part. Fun times!

I just wrote a blog article on fall fly fishing that I would like to share. Some of it was wade fishing but much of it was kayaking in lakes into mouths of rivers.
Fall Fly Fishing in Montana
Hope you enjoy!
