Yesterday my wife said I could go fishing today if I wanted to (hmmm let me think about that :) So I headed to George Rogers park and launched the kayak. The sturgeon bite was a little slow and soft for most of the day. I worked hard for the 6 that I landed. I was rewarded with a 62" fish though. Really put up quite a fight on the Salmon rod. Thanks to the guys in the boat for getting a picture. They were clearly rewarded by the karma gods since they immediately hooked up a double after taking my picture :D

I spent most of the afternoon bass fishing and ended up catching 3. None were huge but they were respectable. The bass came on soft plastic in about 5' of water near big boulders. Seems like they are starting to warm up!

I'm from St.Helens. Right now I have a sit-in kayak that I rigged for fishing. But, I have my eye on a Revo 11.

Right on. I am about 6'4" and 210 so an Outback loaded for bear is near the minimum I would want to sit in. I still get water coming up through the scuppers with the constant boat wake action on the Willamette. Take that into consideration when considering your purchase.

Dude, you need to check out my other post on the beast I caught this weekend. Being able to lean on a 250lb sturgeon for all you are worth is why an Outback rocks :)

I'm a little guy compared to you. 5'7" and 160. I really have not fished the rivers at all. Just hit some of the lakes with light tackle. One of my buddies just picked up a revo 13 and plans on heading out to the salt. He just planned his first trip to George Rodgers this weekend in his new yak. I have not talked to him since his maiden voyage. I will definately demo before my purchase.
