Try this guy on The Beachcats.com. He seems to be a walking wiki.

Thanks Navy. It's already a topic over there. Damon's stumped too.

Boy the mast looks really long looking at it from the side like that. Asymmetric hulls, fairly large rudders, kinda looks like Hobie rudder hardware....still looks like a Heinz 57!

It's a spirit 17.

Or one of the other names it was after the first company sold.

Thanks Ham. I inquired of The Google and haven't found anything on Spirt Cats as a company.

I'll keep looking.

Try this?

http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/hin.htm
Quote:
On catamarans and pontoon boats the HIN must be affixed on the aft crossbeam within one foot of the starboard hull attachment.

And you can then alledgedly use this database to search based on the Manufacturer ID Code (First three letters)

Thanks matt. I look at the crossbeam - no numbers. Just the numbers on the starboard hull (in my initial post). And it starts with numbers - not letters.

I also tried to research Spirit Catamarans. Nothing there either that I could find.

Matt, you nailed it. I was laying out all the sails that came with the boat today - and at the bottom of the bag of 4 other sails (3 of them Hobie) was this worn out main with this insignia...

Now if I could just find some info on this boat online!

It's a very interesting mix of Prindle and Hobie parts, design, and technology. Interesting knock-off. And there sure don't seem to be many of them around. So I'm sure it's worth hundreds of thousands as a collector's item.
