what would you think a fair price for this boat would be?

http://youngstown.craigslist.org/boa/3045916748.html

The sails look like the 1980 version... i'm guessing the boat is that old also... thinking of picking it up on our way north for summer vacation.

Looks like the owner just spend a bunch of $$$ on that one. If the hulls are solid, sails are nice, cover is in good shape and the trailer in good condition it might be worth that. You'd easily end up spending that to recondition a similar one.

The sails indicate it's an '83.

Other than the fact that it's 30 years old, it looks to be in great shape. Lots of new stuff. I'd say $2,100 is a pretty fair price.

Sails could be a weakness of the boat, just because of their age -- 32 year old. If the sails are 6 out of 10 or better, then I would say it is a fair deal. Else, I would deduct $200-600 from the asking price.

Those Hot Flash sails always look great, if they are in good shape you would have a good looking boat.

Looks like its been painted, I would check that out, improperly painted fiberglass boats can quickly deteriorate and the paint will start flaking off.

i don't really need the cover.... is there much of a market to sell it to recoup some cash if I buy it? I was thinking an offer of $1500 for the whole deal would be reasonable considering the age.... any thoughts? Ive got an H14T now that I am selling and am dying to upgrade but want to find a solid boat... headded to canada and I could pick this up on the way home. I know those freshwater boats probably hold up better than the ones I can find down in florida that have been exposed to lots of salt water action.
