Can anyone tell me where the foam plugs in the mast are as the previous owner of my boat decided to fill the mast with packing peanuts :(. It is an all aluminum mast.

They are maybe a foot or so from each end. The masthead one is probably closer and easier to get to.

Take the masthead off and you should see it. It's typically covered by a thin aluminum plate and lots of polysulphide caulk.

I believe the lower plug on the 18 mast is centered on the diamond wire / rotator bolt. The bolt passes through the plug if I'm not mistaken.

Got a set of new plugs coming in and one aluminum plate. I really hope there is one still in the bottom as it was not in stock with 4 dealers I tried. Any tips on installing the plugs?

Latex gloves.

Seriously. Keeps the caulk off your hands.

there must be one at the diamond wires. on the trailer, i can hear water sloshing inside at that point but not higher up on the mast which on the trailer is lower
