Would like to add wings on my Hobie 16 if possible. Does Hobie make wings that can be attached to a Hobie 16 or is there an after market possibility?

I've been looking on the internet but haven't had any luck so far.

Thanks.

Hobie never offered wings for a H16 - there is something called 'trap seat' I believe that some disabled sailors use - here's what I found using Google:

Did you try Google? The first 3 results for "Hobie 16 wings" include:

Have I got a deal for you!

A good friend bought the boat in this "sitnsail" add last year. He does not use the wings (which remove easily). He will give them to you if you will reimburse shipping costs. Or if you are close to Los Angeles, you can pick them up.

Send me a private message message and I will send you his phone number.

^^^^ Those are tight! I wonder if they would drag when flying a hull.

I had a 16 with SitNSail wings and they were a very good product.

They do if you get high enough. One downside to flying a hull with wings is it limits how high you can fly because the wings drag in the water and kind of mess up how the boat performs, but it's not too big of a problem because you have to get pretty high for this to happen.

Also, capsizing with wings pushes you into the sail sooner than without wings, and you can't scootch your butt or feet onto the side of the high hull to keep from falling off.

Those are about the only complaints I have with wings, but their benefits far outweigh the complaints.
