Trying to buy a evolve v2 kit and all the retailers I found online say it's back ordered at Hobie.

I know where nearing 2013 model year, is a new version coming out or is the back order normal for a evolve kit?

I'm waiting for a call back from the Sacramento dealer on the evolve v2.

Got a quick call back, the old "3 to 4 weeks" back order reply.

No changes for 2013.

But, we are adding a small protective plate to keep the motor housing from getting damaged by the "batten" fiberglass piece that supports the motor. This has been shown to crack housings if the motor is dropped or grounded on the fin. Shoves the motor up and contacts the batten, if loose, which cracks the motor. Latest delay is related to a design and fabrication change.

Thanks for the update Matt. I had planned to pick up the Oasis from my local Sacramento dealer this Friday, but with the delay on the evolve I'll probably wait. Too many times I've heard "3~4 weeks" back order to find out it was months. Torqeedo makes electric drives for all kayaks, maybe I'll have to check which dealers have them in stock and what kayaks they carry.
